How to register to bid
Everyone who bids must be registered and approved. It is free, and it protects buyers and sellers by making sure every bid comes from a real, checked person.
Step 1: Create your account
Click Register at the top of the page. Enter your name, email, phone number and address, and choose a password.
Step 2: Accept the auction rules
Read the auction rules and tick to accept them. They explain how bidding works, the deposit of 10% of the purchase price (minimum £5,000), the buyer's fee of £1,500 plus VAT, and the fact that the winning bid is binding.
Step 3: Confirm your identity
Draft – to be reviewed by a solicitor
UK law asks property businesses to check who they deal with. In your account, upload a photo ID (passport or driving licence) and a proof of address (a recent bank statement or utility bill) and confirm the details are yours.
- Photo ID: passport or photocard driving licence
- Proof of address: dated in the last 3 months
- Buying through a company? We will also ask for company details
Step 4: Wait for approval
We check your documents, usually within one working day. Your account will then say Approved to bid. If we need anything else, we will email you.
Step 5: Get ready to bid
Once you are approved, you can bid on any live lot. Bid on the lot page, or ask us about a telephone bid if you cannot be online.
